Originally the ship was built as Ryndam for Holland America Line in 1994. Currently the ship is named Pacific Aria and provides its service to P&O Australia. In summer 2021 Ida Pfeiffer will join the fleet of TransOcean Cruises.
During warm seasons trips in Northern, Eastern and Western Europe as well as the Mediterranean Sea will be organised. In Winter long-term trips to sunny areas are planned. TransOcean Cruises aims to provide guests with the same standard as on the Vasco da Gama.

Atmosphere
Due to the ship's size and the familiar atmosphere the guests feel very comfortable. The dress code is informal except of one or two gala evenings per week where formal cloths are recommended. Most of the passengers speak German and during the German school holidays there are also some children.

The guests select their dining time and table completely individually in the main restaurant Waterfront. There are no fixed dining times. For lunch and dinner several course menus are served. The buffet restaurant is called Club Bistro. The friendly crew members are going to give you the single dishes at different stations and live counters.
Entertainment, sports & wellness
At the upper decks there are different entertainment facilities like the Hollywood's for the presentation of shows, the Auditorium, the Captain's Club and different shops. The fitness center and the wellness area Jade Wellness are located at the Lido deck. Different wellness treatments can be booked for an additional fee. Besides the fitness center there is a big outside area with two sports fields for different games. The pool area of the Lido deck is covered with a glass roof which can be opened in good weather conditions.

Ida Pfeiffer is highly recommended for young hearted couples who put their focus on the destination and like to experience a relaxed and classic cruise. According to the nice inside and outside facilities the ship is a good choice for changeable weather conditions as well.
