The Lan Diep is a popular riverboat, which takes you to the most beautiful places in the Mekong region in a comfortable way. The ship was built in Vietnam from fine woods in the traditional Asian boat style and with its shallow draft is ideal for use on the Mekong. The interior is colonial and looks cosy and very tasteful. With a length of only 50 m, you travel with a maximum of 44 guests on a total of 3 passenger decks. On board you will find a restaurant with a bar, a spacious sundeck with a promenade and an open-air salon.
The tour operator and cruise provider Phoenix Reisen was founded in 1973 and is specialized in high-quality river and ocean cruises. The portfolio includes not only classic river trips, e.g. on the Danube, the Rhine and the Volga, but also exotic routes such as cruises in South America, the Orient or the South Seas. Due to the small ship sizes, there is a family atmosphere on board. During the cruise you can enjoy high-quality dishes, from the maritime fish buffet to grilled specialties to desserts and cakes. Phoenix Reisen also offers special arrangements for wedding couples, birthday children or other anniversaries and celebrations.
The comfortably furnished outside staterooms are furnished with lots of fine wood and have a shower/WC, bathrobes, a hair dryer, an air conditioning and a safe. The voltage is 220 V AC. With a size of approx. 13 sqm, the staterooms offer sufficient space.
The atmosphere is cosy and informal as on all Phoenix ships. Due to the very small number of passengers on board the Lan Diep you have a very familiar and personal atmosphere. The dress code is casual and should be adapted to the climate of the tropical regions.
Look forward to a big breakfast buffet and enjoyable lunches and dinners in the form of multi-course menus. Enjoy European dishes as well as specialties from Cambodia and Vietnam in the Panorama-Restaurant, which is already included in the cruise price. There is a communal table time on board. In addition to the restaurant, a bar (not included) complements the culinary offer.
A selection of board games and books is available. Regional events such as folklore performances, language courses or lectures about the country and its people round off the program on board. For a little relaxation, you can relax on the sundeck, the promenade or in the open-air salon.
Through a variety of shore excursions, you have the opportunity to get to know the country and its people along the route. The excursion program is adapted to the length of stay of the ship and is accompanied by qualified tour guides. The excursions are usually in German language. The shore excursions can be booked directly on board or partly in advance online at the shipping company. Payment is on board. At some cruises a variety of shore excursions is already included.
If you want to enjoy a special cruise, experience the unique scenery of the Mekong and discover distant cultures and places, then you are just right aboard the Lan Diep. Due to its size, the ship offers only limited on-board program.
