The Aponte family has also established an independent charitable organisation, the MSC Foundation, which is also present on board and supports many humanitarian and environmental projects.
MSC Cruises offers its guests a Mediterranean and modern lifestyle at a good price-performance ratio. Guests of all ages feel at home on the sometimes colourful, sometimes understated ships. The use of shore power also contributes to the reduction of emissions. In addition, the waste water treatment and waste management system complies with international IMO standards and according to the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the MSC World America is one of the ships with the lowest CO2 emissions.
